Chennai, February 11, 2026:
The Budding Authors Programme was conducted with great enthusiasm on February 11, 2026, at the auditorium of SBIOA International School. The event aimed at nurturing literary talent and fostering a culture of reading and creative writing among students.
The programme was graced by the esteemed Chief Guest, Smt. G. Sundari, Director and Co-Founder of Spiral IUP Solutions. In her address, she encouraged students to dedicate more time to reading and writing, emphasising that imagination plays a vital role in shaping ideas into meaningful books. Drawing from her own life experiences, she inspired students to believe in their creative potential and motivated them to write and publish their own books.
Adding pride to the occasion, three young talents of the school — Ashleigh (Grade 6C), Harish Bhairavan (Grade 9A), and Akshitha Haasini (Grade 6A) — were recognised as the budding authors of the institution, having successfully published their own books. They shared their inspiring journeys of writing and publishing, speaking about the challenges they faced, the joy of seeing their ideas in print, and the importance of perseverance and creativity. Their speeches deeply motivated fellow students to explore their own writing abilities.
A special address was delivered by the Principal, Smt. Revathy Alagarsamy, who encouraged students to cultivate regular reading and writing habits. She urged them to develop storytelling skills and consistently practise creative expression, highlighting that discipline and passion can transform imagination into published work.
The programme also featured book stalls set up by the visiting author- I am an author and by Scholastic India, offering a diverse collection of books. After the session, students enthusiastically visited the stalls to explore and purchase books. The stalls will remain open for three days as part of the school’s Reading Week celebration.
The Budding Authors Programme proved to be an enriching and inspiring event, leaving students motivated to read widely, write confidently, and dream of becoming authors themselves.
